Family Tasks
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Overview
Family Tasks (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a private family task and chat product available at https://family-tasks.online and as an Android app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, and a hashed password. If you enable two-factor authentication, we store an encrypted authenticator secret and hashed recovery codes.
- Family content: tasks, assignments, deadlines, chat messages, plans, invites, and related activity you create in the app.
- Device and notification data: optional web push or Android push tokens so we can deliver notifications you enable, plus basic session/cookie data needed to keep you signed in.
- Support / email delivery: addresses used for verification, password reset, and family/plan invitations.
How we use information
- Provide and secure the Family Tasks service
- Authenticate users and protect accounts
- Sync family tasks, chat, and shared plans
- Send transactional email and optional push notifications
- Diagnose issues and keep the service reliable
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing and processors
We use service providers that process data on our behalf to run the product, including hosting, database, email delivery, and (for the Android app) push notification delivery. They only receive what is needed to provide those services.
Family members you invite can see content shared within your family or plan workspace according to the app’s normal sharing rules.
Retention
We keep account and family content while your account remains active. You can delete your account in Account Settings, which removes your account data subject to residual backups and legal retention needs. Push tokens are removed when you disable notifications or sign out of a device.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and encrypted storage for sensitive items like authenticator secrets. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Children's privacy
Family Tasks is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Your choices
- Update your display name and security settings in the app
- Enable or disable notifications per device
- Leave a family or delete your account where those controls exist — see Request account deletion
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
